Lil Jon at Premium Lifestyle Group Table at Sky Suite at Sundance Film Festival 2010

After a short hiatus and several months of travelling(Mexico, Miami, LA and other fun destinations) we are back with a vengeance and happy to report on our great success at the recent Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.  Premium Lifestyle Group was invited to participate as the event concierge and sponsor for the Sky Suite at The Sky Lodge.

The Sky Suite was arguably the best attended, and certainly the coolest gifting lounge at Sundance. The three day event was expertly organized by our good friends at Talent Resources and the result was an overwhelming success for everyone involved. Premium shared the stage with several other fabulous companies and provided fabulous “swag” for all the celebrities who visited the Sky Suite.

We were fortunate enough to have the folks at Corona donate 16 limited edition Corona Burton snow boards that we gifted to some of the top celebrities that visited the Sky Suite. In addition, we decided to contribute to a worthy cause by having all of the celebrities sign one of the snow boards. Celebrities such as Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart, Khloe Kardashian, Aaron Rodgers, Danny Masterson, Jordy Masterson, Kate Mara, Malin Akerman, Pauly Shore, John Forte, Tom Arnold, Appolonia, Lil Jon, David Wells, John Goessling, Wilmer Valderrama and many others were kind enough to sign the snow board.

We then packaged the autographed snow board with a 3 month complimentary membership to our service and are in the process of auctioning the package at charitybuzz.com. All of the proceeds we receive from the snow board will be donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for Haiti.  You can check out the auction and bid for yourself here.

Once all the gifting was done for the day, we returned to the Sky Suite at night to party at special parties that were sponsored by our  good friend Matt Goldstein at The Eldridge and Gold Bar in NYC. The DJ’s were rocking, the booze was flowing and everybody got down and dirty dancing to the beats.

All in all, Sundance 2010 was a fabulous experience for all and we cant wait to do it again next year! For those who want to see all the photos from the sky suite we invite you to view them here.

Stay tuned for more adventures, reviews and news from The Premium Life!

My Kind of Town…..Chicago is

Posted in art, bars, dining, food, music, travel, wine and liquor tagged with , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 3rd, 2009 by Amanda Bourne

Last week I headed off to Chicago for a family wedding. I used to head to “Chi-town” quite often, when I was a student at the University of Wisconsin Madison. I have always viewed this bustling metropolis as one of the most under rated cities in the US, offering its guests awe-inspiring architecture, swinging jazz and delectable dining. These gifts often go unnoticed as the jet set tend to favor New York and LA over the Windy City, which becomes inhospitable in the winter months.

This week the Windy City once again found a warm spot in my heart…I encourage you to give it a chance, if it hasn’t found a special place in your heart.

Although our itinerary was, for the most part, consumed by wedding festivities, we did sneak in some low-brow, high quality eats.

My sister came across an article a few months back in the New York Times on Mado. It is located in Wicker park, an upcoming area with some breathe taking residential apartments.

The restaurant is BYOB but they recommend Red & White, a chic wine store, down a few blocks. He staff was charming and extremely helpful as they are very familiar with the Mado menu. Read more »

THE CHART ROOM: A SUMMER STANDARD

Posted in dining, travel tagged with , , , , , , , , , , on July 17th, 2009 by Amanda Bourne

I have been vacationing on Cape Cod as long as I can remember but a true dining tradition started when my parents built a home in Falmouth a few miles down the road from the quintessential dockside restaurant: The Chart Room.

This will be the 10th summer that we have had a Friday night standing reservation…this is not unusual for locals to reserve their table for the entire season. Located in Kingman Yacht CenterGetImage.ashx, the rustic shingled eatery that once was a barged railroad (with an attached covered patio) is surrounded by hundreds of boats of all sizes and standards. Driving through the large parking lot leads to you the surreal Red Brook Harbor…where sunsets rank supreme.

The wait can be long but patrons stay calm with cocktails served waters edge at the outdoor tables. The crowd is a mix of locals, tourists, salty dogs and the posh boat scene.

Although the food is as fresh as the scent of the ocean air, the Chart Room is anything but fancy. Paper table clothes with the map of Cape Cod cover the tattered wooden tables and the menus mimic an old fashion luncheonette. The cuisine is simple but high quality. Focused on seafood and fish there are of course a number of dishes for the carnivore.  A heaping plate of steamers, Haddock fish chowder, and the stuffed Quahog are some of the appetizer favorites.  The Swordfish with anchovy sauce is delicious…the grill marks add a nice flavor that compliments the salty and citrus taste of the sauce. Personally, I like to stick to the classic boiled lobster needing nothing but the basic melted butter and lemon wedges.

Along with the sunset views and refreshing cocktails, the Chart Room provides value. All entrees are served with a house salad, warm rolls, a baked potato (in foil) and the nightly veggie (often sautéed string beans and butternut squash).

When your reservation is finally called and you enter into the bar area the energy hits you. The conversations and buzz are constant and sometimes even slightly too loud on the weekends but the food and view is worth the noise. The Oreo cookie cake with warm hot fudge and whipped cream is a perfect ending to a summer meal.

Many people enjoy dining at lunchtime, feasting on the lobster roll served on Portuguese crispy bread and the juicy broiled burgers. The bar remains busy until closing especially with boaters who need only to stumble 20 yards to their docked vessels. Another charming characteristic about the Chart Room is the Piano bar, set in the middle of the main dining room. The local singers perform jazz and cabaret classics throughout the weekend nights and randomly a diner will be brave enough to get up and join in.

The owner clearly wants to keep the experience of the restaurant set around the summer and fall season as it is only open from Mid May to Mid October. So all of us loyal visitors treasure our final sunset over the harbor and last bite of New England caught lobster to only hibernate until the next summer season at the famous Chart Room.

Posted in bars, hotel, resorts, travel tagged with , , , , , , , on July 10th, 2009 by Seth Kaplan

Shangri LAAfter spending all of my July 4th’s in the Hamptons, this would be my first one on the west coast. I was not sure what to expect. I was lucky enough to be invited to the SoBe Lifewater July 4th day pool party at the brand new Shangri-La hotel in Santa Monica (Just opened 2 weeks ago). The SoBe Lifewater 4th of July Party was sponsored by Belvedere Vodka and hosted by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Rashida Jones. This turned out to be one of the best July 4th parties I have been too. Besides the weather being perfect, the hotel was amazing, their food was terrific , a fun crowd, and a great setting.

The Shangri La Hotel just completed a $30 million makeover. Originally built in 1939, the hotel still features its art deco past and old Hollywood glamour. The hotel features a swanky rooftop bar, gourmet restaurant, and great rooms. All feature eco-friendly elements like compact lighting, organic cleansers for housekeeping , bath amenities from Natura Green. The Dining Room at Shangri-La is not to be missed also. Try the deconstructed Cobb salad and the burger–you won’t be sorry.

The Shangri-La is perfect for your next corporate getaway or event. With 71 newly renovated rooms, the hotel is perfect for a corporate takeover. Premium Lifestyle Group can assist with planning poolside bbq’s, team building activities, a rooftop party, and more.

Winvian: A whimsical and indulgent escape

Posted in dining, hotel, resorts, travel tagged with , , , , , , , , , , , on June 10th, 2009 by Amanda Bourne

Tucked away in the idyllic hills of Litchfield Hills, CT, lies Winvian, a sophisticated getaway set on 113 beautiful acres of rolling, green hills and crystal clear lakes.

From the moment you arrive, the worries of the outside world slip away; whether it’s the old-school games in the main house, or the members of the kitchen gathering fresh ingredients from the on-site gardens, it does not take long to know that the memories from this whimsical getaway will last for a long time to come.

Eighteen uniquely themed cottages capture the imagination and immerse the Inn’s guests in sophisticated luxury (cottages range from a treehouse suspended 35 feet in the air, to a mammoth compound, built entirely of stone boulders – each has modern appliances and lack nothing in the way of convenience).

The Winvian is endorsed by Relais & Chateaux, assurance that the food is set to a very high standard.  Each meal is a bespoke experience and, like all aspects of the Winvian, will not disappoint even the most demanding of clients.

A beautiful 5,000 square foot spa is highly recommended and includes specialized rooms for each particular treatment.

The Gordon Brown House is where private events and corporate meetings take place. The venue is rustic-chic with all the modern necessities. It is the ideal space to create an event for any special occasion.

Winvian touches all your senses and is a perfect place to add a remarkably individual impression to any celebration. It is a place that brings you together with nature, makes you feel carefree while always feeling taken care of as if you were a guest at a friend’s fantastic home.

Going Disney…the VIP way

Posted in VIP, travel tagged with , , , , , , on June 1st, 2009 by guy

My last memories of Disney World a few years back are not fond ones. Standing in line for hours for a 5 minute ride, hot sun beating down on you with no relief in site, terrible food, kids crying, etc…

So it was with trepidation and impending gloom that I wearily accepted my parents invitation to take the whole family to Disney. “There has to be a better way!”, I thought to myself….

Thanks to Disney VIP Tour Services there is. From the moment you arrive, your personal VIP Guide is there to take care of everything – from creating your ideal itinerary to getting you the best seats in the house for live shows, parades and nighttime spectaculars.  The cost is between $175 to $215 per hour for a minimum 6 hour tour. You get your own personal tour guide that helps you get your way around the parks, get you all your fast pass tickets in adavnce and reserves special VIP viewing areas for all Disney shows and parades.  There are eight tours that you can choose: toddlers, big kids, teens, active fun, romance and relaxation, character experiences, what’s new and good for groups. You can also customize your own experience like we did.

We had a blend of toddlers, big kids and we wanted some active fun.  I spoke to our guide ahead of time, told her about our group, age range, experience, etc… and she created an wonderful experience that was enjoyed by everyone. It included access to the best roller coaster rides, parades, shows, dining reservations, special attractions and much more.

I know the cost of admission if high enough. However, if you truly wan to maximize you time at Disney World Parks for you and your family or group, I highly recommend going the VIP way. As always, if you need help in any of your travel plans or experiences, please contact us at www.premiumlg.com
